FL1CK3R
A series of 30 recursive, re-inscribed animations on Bitcoin Ordinals. Each frame is a neon-light interpretation of the Bitcoin logo — 30 frames at 30 fps forming a one-second interactive loop, inscribed entirely on-chain.
About the Project
FL1CK3R is a limited series of recursive, re-inscribed animations built on Bitcoin Ordinals, created in collaboration with OnChainMonkey. The project explores looping visual structures and recursive motion as encoded directly on-chain, blending Brinkman's playful animation style with the computational properties of Ordinals inscriptions.
The choice of 30 pieces is intentional — in animation, 30 frames per second is the standard frame rate. FL1CK3R is literally a one-second loop: 30 individual frames, each with its own story, that combine into a single, seamless animation. Some frames reference Brinkman's past works, while others belong to rare sets — all rendered as neon-light interpretations of the Bitcoin logo.
The result is an interactive piece of code that lets you change the frame rate, add a strobe effect, pause, and play — what Brinkman describes as “the whole Felix the Cat bag of tricks of what ordinals can do.”

Recursive Inscriptions
Traditional Ordinals are siloed — each inscription exists in isolation, unaware of anything beyond itself. Recursive inscriptions change this by allowing one inscription to reference and pull data from others, creating composable, modular systems on Bitcoin.
FL1CK3R leverages this by inscribing each animation frame as an individual ordinal, then using a recursive master inscription that assembles all 30 frames into a playable, interactive animation. The code libraries that power the animation are themselves inscribed on Bitcoin — meaning the entire stack, from rendering engine to artwork, lives permanently on-chain.
The Flicker Legacy
FL1CK3R builds on the ideas Brinkman first explored in the 2021 Flicker Fusion collection on NiftyGateway — an exploration of motion and the persistence of vision. Where Flicker Fusion deconstructed animation on Ethereum, FL1CK3R reconstructs it on Bitcoin using recursive ordinals.
