Blossom
A series of 300 unique generative branches with blooming flowers, inspired by the tile-work and mosaics of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. With each turn, a new branch is formed, and moments that become memories bloom.
About the Project
Blossom was born from a trip to the United Arab Emirates, where Bryan visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The mosque's intricate floral tile-work and geometric mosaics — handcrafted patterns radiating across marble walls in mother-of-pearl and precious stones — became the foundation for the generative system behind Blossom.
Each of the 300 pieces grows a unique branch structure with blooming flowers, translating the mosque's architectural patterns into animated digital art. The generative algorithm creates organic, branching forms that echo the intertwining floral motifs found throughout the mosque's interior, with each output forming its own distinct composition.
The project was released as part of the Morrow/UAE Bundle on NiftyGateway, connecting the artwork directly to the place that inspired it.
